1. Who this policy covers
Stratus Global Airlines is a community-run virtual airline based in the United Kingdom. It is not a commercial airline and does not sell real-world travel. This policy applies to our website, pilot portal and connected operational services.
2. Information we collect
We collect application and profile information, including name, country, email, callsign, password hash, avatar, biography and optional VATSIM or IVAO identifiers. We also store account status, awards, bookings, simulated flight activity and administrative records.
3. How we use information
- To review applications and operate pilot accounts.
- To provide schedules, dispatch, awards, ranks and fleet features.
- To secure the service, prevent misuse and investigate faults.
- To send essential verification, reset and service messages.
4. Lawful basis and retention
We process information to provide the requested community service, for legitimate interests in operating and securing Stratus, and where required with consent. Information is kept only while an account, operational record, security need or legal obligation requires it.
5. Sharing and external services
We do not sell personal data. Hosting, email, storage or security providers may process it for Stratus. Optional integrations such as Discord, VATSIM, IVAO, SimBrief or Navigraph have their own privacy terms and may process information outside the UK.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or request a portable copy where applicable. Some moderation and security records may need retention. UK users may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
7. Security and children
We use access controls, hashed passwords, protected sessions, rate limits and audit records. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Applicants must meet the age stated in recruitment rules.
